One of the worlds most dramatic mountain regions, the Swiss Alps are home to alpine villages, flowerfilled pastures and lush green meadows. From our base in the peaceful resort of Wengen, we walk in the shadow of dramatic mountains, stroll through alpine meadows and visit the vibrant Swiss capital city of Berne.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 UK/SWITZERLAND Depart on your scheduled flight to Zurich and transfer to the village of Lauterbrunnen. From here, take a short but scenic train ride to the charming village of Wengen and your hotel where you will spend seven nights. DAY 2 WENGEN The village of Wengen is virtually traffic free and has a wonderful network of paths radiating into the surrounding countryside. Set off on a walk to the north of the village, taking in the surrounding snow-covered peaks and stunning scenery. Stops will be made to enjoy the wonderful views. DAY 3 INNERWENGEN Head south to Innerwengen, then climb through the Ronen Forest to Mettlenap where there will be time to enjoy a picnic lunch and take in the magnificent views of the nearby glaciers. (approx. 4 hours walking). DAY 4 BERNE We enjoy a guided walking tour of the charming Swiss capital, Berne today. Located at the foot of the Alps, it is made up of sandstone buildings, pretty arcaded streets and beautiful fountains. We see the magnificent Gothic cathedral, the medieval houses of the Kramgasse and the famous 12th-century clock tower. On our return journey we make a stop in lakeside Thun, with its picturesque castle and charming medieval centre. DAY 5 - MURREN Arriving in Murren, we set off on a walk with views of the surrounding peaks, including the Jungfrau Massiv. We walk via the Schiltalp to Allmendhubel, passing through the beautiful Blumental, the Valley of Flowers, to the Grutschalp for the train journey back to Wengen (approx. 5 hours walk).

DAY 6 - WENGEN Free time to relax in these beautiful surroundings today, or take the optional rail journey from Wengen to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe. Travel through the Eiger tunnel, carved into the mountain, stopping to look at the view through panoramic windows cut into the tunnel walls. DAY 7 KLEINE SCHEIDEGG We take the cable car to Mannlichen where there are magnificent views of the vertical north face of the Eiger. From here we walk down a quiet path to Kleine Scheidegg, stopping to
admire the countless different alpine flowers. (approx. 4½ hours walk). DAY 8 Transfer to Zurich airport for your. return flight to the UK. YOUR HOTEL: You will stay in the Sunstar Hotel Wengen on a half board basis. This comfortable hotel is superbly located on Wengens main street close to the shops, and offers a fine restaurant, bar, lounge and an indoor pool. It also has a lovely small garden and a sun terrace, and well-appointed guest rooms with minibar, cable TV and hairdryer.
