YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Early evening arrival in Valkenburg for a three night stay. DAYS 2 & 3 - Free to relax and enjoy our excursion programme. The following excursion is included: Aachen - A half day tour just over the border into Germany, visiting the traditional Christmas market in Aachens old town centre. Choose one of the following optional excursions: Maastricht - Visit Winterland,located on Vrijthof Square, and enjoy the Christmas market, the ice rink, live music, and the fairground. Monschau - A half day tour to this charming medieval town with its narrow streets and halftimbered old houses. DAY 4 - We stop off at the lovely Belgian town of Bruges, the Venice of the North, before continuing to Calais for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK. This popular Christmas market break is based in the lively city of Düsseldorf, situated on the banks of the River Rhine. Düsseldorf offers a surprising number of attractions, with great shopping on the Königsallee, numerous inns in the Altstadt (old town), fascinating museums and wonderful architecture.
The Christmas market stalls are delightful, with festively decorated huts selling traditional arts and crafts, Christmas tree decorations, mulled wine and gingerbread. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and mid-morning crossing to Calais. Travel through Belgium into Germany, arriving at your hotel in Düsseldorf early evening for a three night stay. Dinner is included in the hotel this evening. DAY 2 - Included morning panoramic city tour of Düsseldorf, taking in such sights as the internationally known boulevard Königsallee, where youll find a great range of jewellery and fashion stores, the Altstadt, the Rhine Tower and the Rhine Promenade. Afternoon at leisure to visit the Christmas markets and festively decorated shops. DAY 3 - Optional half day scenic drive through the rolling countryside surrounding the pretty town of Bergisch Gladbach. Time for lunch before returning to Düsseldorf for free time to explore further. DAY 4 - Time to leave for the return journey to Calais and a late afternoon crossing to the UK. Continue to your original departure point in the evening.
