The magnificent backdrop of Colognes Gothic Cathedral towering over the traditional market stalls and marvellous shops makes this popular Rhineland break a Christmas treat to remember.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Evening arrival at your hotel in the Koblenz region for a three night stay. DAYS 2 & 3 - Free to relax and enjoy our excursion programme. The following excursion is included: Cologne - A full day excursion visiting the lively Rhineland capital. There are actually six Christmas markets in the centre, two of which are close to the magnificent Cathedral in the pedestrianised zone. Our excursion allows plenty of time for shopping and free time in Cologne before returning to your hotel for dinner. The following excursions are optional: Rhine Valley - A scenic drive along the banks of the busy Rhine, with a wine tasting along the way. River Cruise - Enjoy a fun-filled boat trip down the mighty Rhine River. DAY 4 - Depart after breakfast for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK and continue to your original departure point in the evening. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in friendly family-run hotels and Gasthofs in villages in the Rhine and northern Moselle areas around Koblenz. All hotels have a restaurant, bar and all bedrooms have private facilities.

If you would like to be in Cologne itself, you may prefer to stay at the comfortable Hotel Ibis Köln Centrum in the centre of the city. The hotel has a bar and accommodation is on a bed and breakfast COLOGNE basis giving you the chance to sample the local restaurants. All bedrooms feature private facilities and air-conditioning. There will be one day at leisure to enjoy Colognes six Christmas markets and the opportunity to join an optional excursion to Bonn. There is a supplement of £25 per person for this holiday. The following excursions are optional: Moselle Valley - A leisurely three-quarter day excursion visiting the popular town of Cochem, with a wine tasting. Moselle River Cruise - Enjoy a leisurely boat trip along the peaceful Moselle River. If you would like to be in the centre of Trier, you may prefer to stay on a bed and breakfast basis at the three star Hotel Römerbrücke on the banks of the River Moselle, just a five minute walk from the old town. The hotel has a restaurant and bar and all bedrooms feature private facilities, TV, radio and telephone. There is a supplement of £70 per person for this holiday.
