A rich history of wine production and scenic surroundings have made Rüdesheim one of Germanys most popular destinations. The town is also home to one of the prettiest Christmas markets in the country, with over 120 stalls featuring a wealth of festive wares and local delicacies. Live music and entertainment and a wonderful nativity scene complete this unmissable festive setting.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Evening arrival at your hotel in the Rhine Valley, for a three night stay. DAY 2 - Today we enjoy an included threequarter day excursion to Rüdesheim, with a scenic drive along the Rhine. Take a river cruise past the famous Lorelei Rock (extra cost), before continuing to Rüdesheim. Stroll around the quaint streets and down the famous Drosselgasse, with its choice of bars and cafés, visit the market stalls or maybe enjoy a tour of Siegfrieds Mechanical Music Museum. We stay to see the wonderful Christmas lights before returning to your hotel in time for dinner. DAY 3 - Free to relax or join our optional full day scenic Moselle Valley tour, visiting popular Cochem, home to a wonderful castle. DAY 4 - Depart after breakfast for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in a friendly family-run hotel or Gasthof in villages along the Rhine. There is a bar/ restaurant and all bedrooms have private facilities.

If you would like to stay in Rüdesheim itself, we offer the comfortable medium grade Hotel Rose, which is just a few minutes walk from the Drosselgasse and has a bar, restaurant, lift and all bedrooms have private facilities. A scenic Rhine Gorge tour is included and there will be an optional excursion to the pretty town of Miltenberg. There is a supplement of £49 per person for this holiday. (Available on all dates.) The River Ahr has carved out a spectacular series of twists and turns which make up the unique features of the Ahr Valley. Our resort, the charming town of Altenahr, is a truly picturesque village with half-timbered old buildings, situated in one of the most scenic spots in the valley. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Early evening arrival in Altenahr for a three night stay. DAYS 2 & 3 - Free to relax and enjoy our excursion programme. The following is included: Bonn - A three-quarter day tour visiting the traditional Christmas market. The stalls form a chain through the cobbled streets starting from the Münsterplatz, the towns main square with its impressive Romanesque Minster. The following excursion is optional: Eifel Explorer - A scenic full day circular tour visiting the quaint walled town of Bad Münstereifel in the beautiful Eifel Hills. We return to Altenahr via the equally pretty old walled town of Ahrweiler. DAY 4 - Depart after breakfast for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening.
