A Christmas market has been held in the delightful cosmopolitan city of Strasbourg ever since 1570. Today festive markets fill many of the towns squares and streets and you can visit the tempting stalls in Colmar too.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Evening arrival at your hotel in the Strasbourg area for a three night stay. DAY 2 - Enjoy our included morning walking tour of Strasbourgs old quarter starting at the landmark of the city, the Notre Dame Cathedral. Your afternoon is free to explore the Christmas markets spreading out from the cathedral square to the Place du Chateau, Place de la Gare, Place Broglie and nearby streets. Youll find a variety of traditional stalls offering specialities such as hand made wooden carvings, scented candles, gift ideas, delicious snacks, hot mulled wine, or take an optional boat trip through the network of canals a great way to see the city. This evening join our included transfer into the centre of the Strasbourg where you can try the popular bars and restaurants around Petite France. DAY 3 - At leisure, or join our optional threequarter day excursion to the picturesque town of Colmar with its traditional Christmas markets, enchanting medieval streets and delicious festive treats. This evening take our included transfer into the centre of the Strasbourg to enjoy the bars and restaurants once again. DAY 4 - Depart after breakfast for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK and continue to your original departure point in the evening.

Enjoy the festive atmosphere of some of Frances most delightful Christmas markets, staying in the beautiful Dijon. We include visits to the markets in Besançon and Dijon, and you have the opportunity to visit the most authentic French Christmas market at Montbeliard.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Evening arrival at your hotel in the Dijon area for a three night stay. DAY 2 - This morning, we include a visit to the historic town of Besançon, where there will be free time to explore the superb Christmas markets, where craftsmen from different European countries welcome visitors on the pretty wooden stalls. Why not take the time to wander around the medieval old town, with its impressive buildings and extraordinary Astronomical Clock, a symbol of Besançons watch-making past. We return to Dijon in the afternoon, visiting the Christmas Market held at the Place de la Liberation. Dijon is famous for its mustard and pain depices, or gingerbread, reminders of its prominent place on the spice route. DAY 3 - Join our optional excursion to the Montbeliard Christmas Market, the most authentic one in France, where craftsmen from all over France set up their stalls selling decorations, traditional santons, mulled wine, gingerbread and much more. DAY 4 - Depart Dijon after breakfast for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in a comfortable medium grade hotel such as the Campanile Dijon Centre in Dijon. The hotel has a bar and a lift. All rooms have private facilities, TV and telephone.
