Praia is the capital of one of the largest islands, Santiago. Make sure you take the time to stroll around the town on the look out for carved coconut shells and lacework. Saturday 16th Tuesday 19th Cruising at sea Wednesday 20th Leixoes (for Oporto) Arrive 1300 Depart 2200 On our homeward route, we come to the small port of Leixoes. It is the gateway to Oporto which is situated on the bank of the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean. The centre is a rich mixture of medieval and 18th century architecture. If you like wine, you'll be at home here across the Douro River is the port wine capital of the world Vila Nova de Gaia. Thursday 21st Vigo Arrive 0700 Depart 1300 Vigo is situated in a beautiful estuary, flanked by the Cies Islands in the Galicia region. Why not take an optional tour to visit the
