This wildlife haven is particularly wellknown for being home to dolphins, but there are also seals, porpoise and many bird varieties. Not to mention the spectacular views across to Fortrose village and the fishing village of Avoch. Look out also for the lighthouse at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle. In the afternoon, take time to explore Inverness. Formally just an ancient fort, Inverness is now a lively city and Capital of the Highlands. See the stunning red stone Inverness Castle and St. Andrews Cathedral, which sits on the banks of the River Ness, or simply enjoy browsing the many shops, then sit back and watch the world go by in a café. DAY 3 - After a scenic drive this morning, we reach the famous Cairngorm Funicular Railway, which is the UK's highest mountain railway. From here we travel to the top of the Cairngorm Mountain, a journey of just 8 minutes. The scenery you'll experience is truly breathtaking, with beautiful flora and fauna all around. We continue to Aviemore for a nostalgic trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway through the striking Boat of Garten to Broomhill. In the afternoon, we pay a visit to the Culloden Battlefield. DAY 4 - This morning, enjoy a real highlight of your holiday, as you take one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world from Inverness to the Kyle of Lochalsh on the west coast. Travel through simply breathtaking scenery, moorlands, valleys and mountains, keeping an eye out for any local wildlife. After lunch (not included) we head back towards Inverness, via Loch Ness. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, from the water to forests, moors, mountains and scenic glens. Who knows we may catch a glimpse of
the legendary Loch Ness Monster! We also pay a visit to Urquhart Castle which overlooks the mysterious waters. DAY 5 - After breakfast, make your own way home.
