All rooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone. Hotels usually have a bar and restaurant, and often other facilities such as a swimming pool and shop. Your Trains The Ocean Accommodation is in Comfort Class in spacious reclining seats with panoramic views. A buffet car and washrooms are available. Upgrades to Easterly Class, featuring private bedroom, access to lounge and panoramic viewing car, dinner, breakfast, tea, coffee and magazines are available. Please note: The panoramic viewing car is not available on 10th May & 7th June departures in Easterly Class. From the dramatic Atlantic coastline of Nova Scotia, via the French Canadian cities of Montreal and Quebec City, Canadas capital Ottawa, Toronto, and the breathtaking Rockies to cosmopolitan Vancouver on the Pacific seaboard, youll be amazed by the diversity and splendour of Canada. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Halifax. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. DAY 2 - We enjoy a short introductory tour of Halifax before our included full day tour along Nova Scotias historic South Shore to Lunenburg and Peggys Cove. Lunenburg is home to some extraordinary architecture and the famous schooner Bluenose. From Lunenburg, continue through Mahone Bay to the picture-postcard village of Peggys Cove on the rugged Atlantic shoreline, where youll have time for exploring. DAY 3 - Late morning departure on The Ocean VIA Rail train, travelling through the night to Montreal. DAY 4 - Morning arrival in Montreal. We include a sightseeing tour prior to transferring to your hotel for a two night stay. Situated on the St. Lawrence Seaway, Montreal is dominated by Mount Royal and is famous for its parks, cobbled streets, shopping plazas and historic sights. DAY 5 - Today we include a full day excursion to Quebec City, which retains much of its 18th century ambience, with horse-drawn carriages winding their way through narrow lanes, ancient churches and charming squares. Famous sights include the Cathedral, Château Frontenac, the Basilica, the star-shaped Citadelle and the Plains of Abraham, scene of the decisive battle in 1759 between the French and English for control of Canada. BRITISH COLUMBIA ALBERTA Kamloops Vancouver Victoria Banff Hudson Bay DAY 6 - Depart Montreal for the drive to Ottawa, an elegant city situated on the Rideau Canal. Its main attractions are the Parliament Buildings and the Grand Château Laurier Hotel. Continue along the shores of Lake Ontario to Toronto for a two night stay. DAY 7 - Toronto is a blend of ultra-modern and Victorian architecture, dominated by the 1,815ft high CN Tower. We include a sightseeing tour, featuring the Sky Dome, the City Hall and Parliament Building. Stop at the CN Tower and take an optional ride to the top for a terrific view of the city and Lake Ontario. Continue this afternoon to Niagara Falls. For the most dramatic views join an optional trip on the Maid of the Mist (operates mid-May to mid-October) or a thrilling helicopter ride. DAY 8 - Transfer to the airport for your flight to Calgary. On arrival transfer to Banff for a three night stay. DAY 9 - Included morning sightseeing tour of Banff, taking you to Surprise Corner, the Hoodoos and Bow River. Afternoon free with optional excursions available. DAY 10 - Join our full day optional excursion to Lake Louise. Surrounded by mountain peaks, this jade-green lake is described by many as the most beautiful place in Canada. DAY 11 - Board the Rocky Mountaineer train at Banff and take the Kicking Horse Route through Banff National Park to Kamloops.
