Fly to Siem Reap for a two night stay and tour all the principal temples and monuments at the magnificent Angkor complex. The 12th century Angkor Wat, with its 180ft central tower and extraordinary breathtaking basreliefs, is especially breathtaking when bathed in light and shade at sunset. Other highlights include the fortified city of Angkor Thom, the intricately carved Temple of Bayon, the Terrace of the Leper King, the 400yard-long Terrace of Elephants, the Baphuon, the surreal temple of Ta Prohm, enveloped by giant banyan trees, and many others each with their own amazing characteristics. A cruise on nearby Tonle Sap Lake will show you floating villages and the rural way of life.
