Hikes for all abilities...
Our Walking Tours are designed for active adults and offer a well-paced mix of walks for all levels of fitness. Most walks are of moderate difficulty and are up to four hours in length. For the more adventurous, there are sometimes optional longer, moderate to strenuous hikes ranging up to eight hours in length that are offered at some destinations. This year we offer 7 exciting Walking Tours: National Parks Walk, Western Parks Walk, Canadian Parks Walk, Appalachian Trail Walk, Inca Trail, Moonstone to Sun Temple Trek and Hike New Zealand.
on-site or fire places in the lodges. Please see each tour's FootNotes dossiers for more information. (Please note, Lodging Tours do not require a sleeping bag, nor is there a "Food Kitty". Meals are taken at local restaurants and passengers pay individually for all meals en route).
Your family will see and do more than you would ever imagine! From riding horses and walking through forests, to observing animals in their natural habitats (such as bear, elk or buffalo) - this will be an unforgettable experience that your boys and girls will never forget!
Family Discovery Tours
What could be better than sharing the experience of travel and the wonders of North & Central America's magnificent national parks with your children? Our popular family adventures have been developed with parents, keeping fun and safety in mind.
Lodging Tours
Designed for those who no longer wish to camp (or never did!), these tours offer the same great adventure with more comfort. The accommodation is chosen for its close proximity to the highlights of the region. All Lodging Tours include accommodation en route on a shared basis. Travellers on their own will be roomed with a fellow passenger of the same sex. In the event that you can not be matched with another passenger, there is never a single supplement charge with Footloose. The type of accommodation for these tours is as different as the unique lands they explore. For example, in North America we may stay at an Alaskan wilderness lodge, a boutique hotel in San Francisco or even a ranch in the Desert Southwest. Further south (in Mexico, Central & South America) we typically stay at locally owned tourist class hotels that are clean, comfortable and sure to make you feel at home. Sometimes there are swimming pools
