Then, it is on to the majesty of Jasper National Park to ride horses, canoe a high mountain lake, mountain bike, or hike to your heart's content. On the way to Banff National Park you will follow the Icefields Parkway along the major glaciers that drain the Columbia lcefields. This is a photographer's paradise! Arriving at Banff, we have three nights to swim in the natural hot springs, hike, cycle, and enjoy some excellent nightlife in town. Here you can also whitewater raft (depending on water levels). South now into the true wilderness of Glacier National Park. Grizzly bear, moose, elk, mountain goats, marmots and a host of birds and small animals call Glacier home. Hike the high mountain passes amidst unsurpassed beauty. Next stop will be a lodge in rural Montana before continuing into the magic of Yellowstone National Park with its mudpots, petrified trees, geysers, wildlife, waterfalls, lakes, meadows, hot springs and swimming holes. Following the Rocky Mountains, we go through the Grand Teton National Park into Jackson, Wyoming, with its Western Rodeo, Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Silver Dollar Saloon. Activities include horseriding, mountain biking and hiking. Following the Snake River into Idaho, we enter Craters of the Moon National Park, the strange landscape caused by a still active volcanic area. Still on the Snake into Oregon and Washington, this adventure moves west to Mount Rainier National Park. Forests and river valleys give way to high meadows and glacial lands, continuing north and west to the lush, temperate rain forests of Olympic National Park for the next two nights.
