Start the tour with a day on our luxury sailing boat to the Outer Barrier Reef. Try scuba diving and snorkelling among the coral in the clear waters. A great start to the tour! Then travel up and over the Great Dividing Range, passing through small towns like Ravenshoe and Mt Garnet. Meet Russell in Mt Surprise and interact in his unique reptile show. We travel through some vastly changing landscape en route to Cloncurry. Passing through the largest city in the world Mt Isa, we depart Queensland through Camooweal and into the exciting Northern Territory. Meet the locals at the renowned Daly Waters Pub or take a refreshing dip in the Mataranka thermal pool. Heading north, maybe take a cruise up two of the spectacular gorge systems of Katherine Gorge. Then head out to see the famous Magnetic termite mounds in Litchfield NP. A morning swim at Florence Falls before arriving in Darwin where we have a free day to see the museums, visit the famous Mindel Market or take a side trip on the Tour Tub! Back on the road, we head to Kakadu National Park, one of Australias most beautiful areas of wilderness. Come and explore Nourlangie Rock to see Aboriginal rock art thousands of years old or take a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong where you can spot the many crocodiles, birds, snakes, dingos and more that are abundant in Kakadu. Uluru Trek operates in both directions Reverse itinerary departs Alice Springs at 07.30 hrs Maybe take a swim at Barramundi Gorge before heading out of Kakadu to camp on an Aboriginal buffalo station, Manyallaluk. We join the aboriginals to try some Bush Tucker, and learn how to throw a spear and even make fire. A great opportunity to support this community by buying a didgeridoo or some local artwork. Visit the gold mining town of Tennant Creek before arriving at the eerie Devils Marbles in time for sunset. Experience the rugged Mac Donnell Ranges before spending a night in the outback town of Alice Springs, we head to Kings Canyon where you can hike the rim trail over the Lost City before arriving at our final camp at Ayers Rock Resort. Plenty of time this evening for that world famous picture of Uluru (Ayers Rock) at sunset. Come and take our challenge to walk around the base of one of the worlds largest monoliths and reveal some of the Aboriginal legends that surround this sacred land. This afternoon we will explore Kata TJuta (The Olgas) before viewing the sunset over these surreal domes.
