From bush camps in the outback to cruising the Great Barrier Reef, this will be the adventure of a lifetime!
We leave Darwin at Australias Top End to explore Kakadu National Park. See rock art thousands of years old, take an optional cruise on Yellow Water Billabong and walk in the footsteps of the aboriginals before arriving at the tranquil Mataranka Hot Springs for a soak in the palm shaded thermal pools. The next few days will be a real outback adventure as we cross the remote landscapes of North Eastern Queensland. Youll get a real feel for the vastness and emptiness of Australias interior. We set up bush camps along the way, pass through mining towns, stop at characteristic outback pubs for refreshments and at hot springs for a swim. Crossing the Atherton Tablelands well head into Cairns. A full day on our multi-million dollar sailing boat awaits. Well cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef where you can snorkel or dive some of the best sites and marvel at the vast array of marine life living in the most extensive reef system in the world. Mission Beach is our next destination, where you can explore nearby Dunk Island and hike the rainforest looking for the elusive cassowary (similar to an emu). The more adventurous can try skydiving over the beach or white water rafting on the Tully River. Our next stop is Airlie Beach, from where you can access the beautiful paradise that is the Whitsunday Islands. Take a day cruise on a catamaran or sailing boat or snorkel and dive the Great Barrier Reef. Leaving the coast behind, we head for our real working cattle station for a taste of Australian country life. Try horse and motorbike riding and enjoy the great hospitality of your hosts. Our next stop is one of the tours highlights Moreton Island. Well pick up a 4WD vehicle to explore the worlds highest sand dunes and more than twenty miles of beach, which acts as a highway and gateway to inland tracks leading to lookouts and crystal clear lakes. Back on the mainland we stop at the Gold Coast where you can take a surfing lesson and view Australias most easterly point at Byron Bay. There is still time to try river kayaking or mountain biking at Barrington Tops before arriving back into Sydney around 7.00pm.
