Sydney Twelve Apostles - Great Ocean Road The ultimate for adventure in Eastern and Central Australia. Travel to Canberra with time out to tour Parliament House and the nations capital. A two-night stop in the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne where you can ride the trams, take in a show or stroll along South Bank. This is the food capital of Australia so go and enjoy it. We journey along the world famous Great Ocean Road and capture the view at the Twelve Apostles. Next is the opal mining town of Coober Pedy for a night underground in a dugout hotel before a unique mine and town tour. Arrive at Uluru (Ayers Rock) in time to see and photograph the spectacular sunset. Next day well hike around the base of Uluru and learn some of the Aboriginal legends surrounding this ancient monolith before we head out to explore Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Hike the rim trail at Kings Canyon before a break in Alice Springs. There is time for a photo session at the Devils Marbles and a swim in the thermal pool at Mataranka before we arrive at Manyallaluk where you will learn how to make fire, throw a spear, do bark painting and even try Bush Tucker. Maybe a cruise up the spectacular Katherine Gorge system before visiting Litchfield National Park with its magnetic termite mounds and cascading waterfalls. Some free time in the northern city of Darwin before we explore Kakadu National Park, where you will see some of the worlds oldest Aboriginal rock art in this World Heritage Area. A great opportunity to photograph the bird life and crocodiles on the optional Yellow Water Billabong Cruise. Meet Russell and his reptiles before arriving in Cairns where we join our multi million dollar sailing boat for a full day out to the Barrier Reef. Try scuba diving (no experience needed), hand feed the fish and snorkel among the vibrant corals in the warm tropical waters.
