anadas Rockies line up a supreme vision of the wild. Hiking is top-drawer and mountain bikers will be on cloud nine. Add in the wildlife, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and an overnight canoe trip to the list and you wont find two more exhilarating weeks.
Day 9/10 Wells Grey Provincial Park The stillness, silence and isolation go up another notch. Overnight on Clearwater Lake, nature surely never felt closer than on your included outback canoe trip. Day 11 Cache Creek On the old Gold Rush trail, this town still packs a frontier punch. All around, prickly cacti, brush and tumbleweed add to this appeal. Day 12/13 Vancouver Stride, rollerblade or pedal your way round Stanley Park, unless youre beat then let the free shuttle take the strain. Or walk the Capilano Suspension Bridge, 230 head-spinning feet above the river. Day 14 Seattle Puget Sound gives you one final wilderness vision before the Emerald City calls time on your trip. Note: This tour may operate in either direction!
Flexible Itinerary
Day 1 British Columbia From Seattle, enter an upand-down landscape of grey, snow-dusted mountains and dark conifers. At our first stop, beside a glinting lake, excitable chin wagging may last long past sundown by the flickering campfire. Day 2/3 Yoho National Park Hike or negotiate the rapids of well-named Kicking Horse River. In any case, the tumbling cascades, glassy lakes and glinting peaks are drop-dead gorgeous. Day 4/5 Banff National Park Boot up, saddle up and breathe in the crisp alpine air where Natures bonanza includes beavers, bears, porcupines and elk. Ride the tramway to Sulphur Mountains peak and recharge your batteries in the heavenly hot springs. Day 6 Lake Louise The imposing chateau looks on as mountains cluster round the turquoise surface. As for you, well, you could always hike out to the Plain-of-SixGlaciers or inspect the scene by paddle power on an optional canoe trip. Day 7/8 Jasper National Park The widescreen scenery keeps on coming. A breathtaking Icefields Parkway drive leads you to this sprawling expanse whose bike trails are the envy of the Canadian Rockies.
