Day 1 Coeur dAlene The Bitterroot Range surge through Idahos panhandle by this lakeside resort. Roam the mall on a major league spending spree. Otherwise gallop, pedal or kayak to your hearts content. Day 2 Montana Boy, those grizzled peaks make awesome driving companions, and ghost towns litter wide, unpopulated expanses. Day 3/4 Yellowstone National Park Bison, moose and elk mix it up near sulphurous mud pools and highshooting geysers best be quick on the draw with your camera. Day 5 Grand Teton National Park With few foothills to speak of, the jagged peaks here rise like teeth from lush, flat meadows against bright blue sky. Day 6 Jackson Taming the raging Snake River rapids should get that adrenaline pumping. So might a shot of Red-Eye Whiskey at the Silver Dollar Saloon. Day 7 Flaming Gorge Take it easy on Green River. An idle cast of a fishing rod or lazily paddling a raft. Why not? Youre on holiday! Day 8/9 Arches National Park/Moab Helmets on! This amber terrain dips, climbs, twists, turns and pulls in mountain bikers from all over. Day 10 Monument Valley Sacred to the Navajo people and beloved by movie directors, youll be smitten too. A night under canvas will see to that. Day 11 Grand Canyon National Park Hiking this jaw-dropping terrain of striped limestone and sandstone, you might spot red-tailed hawk or majestic golden eagle.
