Night Stops
Day 1 New York City (HP*) How about an instant overview of NYC? Weve included your entrance to the Empire State Building. So ride the subway and the earpopping elevators for crisp evening views right across Manhattan. Day 2 Ithaca (HP*) Situated by Cayuga Lake, largest of the Finger Lakes, this town has a young-at-heart buzz to it, thanks to its plentiful students. Taste the wine and cider samplings of this renowned region or take a short hike to one of the most popular waterfalls in New York State. Day 3/4 Toronto (HP*) Glimpse the crashing Niagara Falls and make the last few paces into Canada across nearby Rainbow Bridge. No freestanding structure on earth stands taller than the CN Tower, so get up and gawp down over this pretty city by Lake Ontario. Browse trendy stores and cosy cafés on College and Queens Street, and dont be too surprised to see an Alister: TO (thats Toronto, Ontario) is Canadas answer to Hollywood. Day 5/6 Montreal (HP*) With more French speakers than anywhere outside of Paris, expect a little European flair. Museums, galleries, eateries and clubs mix a cocktail of the best bits from both continents. And if its a tad chilly, stick indoors (even take a train) within the Underground Citys 30km devoted to all things retail. Day 7 Stowe (HP*) The Ski Capital of the East puts on an incredible winter spread, from the slopes to snowshoeing to dog sledding. So arrange your own days adventure or just wander the quaint clapboard town itself. Day 8/9 Boston (HP*) Here in Beantown relive the revolution along the Freedom Trail. Later perhaps a bite to eat in an Italian North End trattoria, a seasonal brew in an authentic Irish pub and your best dance moves in a lively, late-night hangout.
Day 10 New York One last blast of the Big Apple could mean a few circuits of the Central Park ice rink. Now, thats what you call a storybook ending. ¨ Note: This tour uses budget hostels chosen for their proximity to city centres. Rooming will be based on a single sex multiple share basis.
