n 1855 the explorer David Livingstone stumbled upon the magnificent Victoria Falls which he was to name after the Queen, and described them thus; "scenes so lovely must have been gazed on by angels in their flight". Indeed, it is the natural beauty of this country and its temperate climate which attract the prospective visitor where, even today, it is possible to relax in a good hotel and visit the surrounding areas. One of the great rivers of Africa, the Zambezi, appears at its most spectacular at Victoria Falls being twice the size of Niagara 108 metres high and over 1,700 metres wide!
