itinerAry Day 1 Fly from London Heathrow to Cairo for three nights at the 5-star Mövenpick Pyramids or The Mena House Oberoi (see page 69 for descriptions). Day 2 Visit the Pyramids and Great Sphinx in the morning. Visit Memphis and Saqqara. Optional Sound & Light at the Pyramids. Day 3 Optional Cairo tour: Drive into Cairo for a city tour including the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, bazaars of Khan el-Khalili, Mohammed Ali Mosque and lunch. `Dining Like an Egyptian'. Day 4 Fly to Luxor and transfer to the MS Hamees (see page 66 for description and itinerary) or SS Misr (see pages 6465 for description and itinerary) for a seven-night stay. On occasion MS Hamees may be replaced by a vessel of similar or higher standard. Days 510 The week aboard your Nile cruiser will be spent seeing the wonderful sights of ancient Egypt. Sightseeing includes the Valley of the Kings, temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, Esna and Kom Ombo temples, Aswan High Dam, temple of Philae, Nubian Museum, the great temple of Karnak and the Luxor Museum and enjoy `Luxor Temple by Night'. It is also possible to pre-book an excursion to Abu Simbel (4 hrs each way by road). Alternatively book our `Secret Nile' programme on dates indicated thus * (see page 65 for details).
