adventure with irresistible destinations DISCOVERY FOR SUMMER 2008 SU VE A P TO 50% VALUE THAT'S HARD TO MATCH With such a range of cruises each offering such breadth and depth, experts to add colour and excitement, and the sheer space and outstanding service that await on board, you'll be surprised by our prices. Add to that the list of extras we include and the savings you can make by booking early, and you'll soon see why Discovery earned The World Ocean & Cruise Liner Association's `Best Cruise Value - Specialty Cruises' award in 2006. BOOK EARLY This year, we'll return to Scotland's Invergordon, close to Loch Ness, to Leith and Edinburgh's many historic and artistic attractions. New to us is Alta at the northern tip of Norway, home to one of Europe's richest rock carving ranges. We'll head for picture-book cities around the Baltic, for too long hidden behind the Iron Curtain; medieval Tallinn and heroic Gdansk. CHOOSE YOUR RIVIERA Following the sun to the south, Discovery then heads for the Mediterranean to see in the Autumn. The sheer variety of destinations you can visit is a feature all of these itineraries share. Perhaps you will lean towards a cruise that turns the spotlight on a particular region, such as the Italian peninsula, taking in Florence, Sicily and the Adriatic. Or you might prefer a cruise from Venice to the Bosphorus that introduces you to ancient ports in Slovenia and Croatia. Just as surprising are the towns we visit around the Black Sea. The climate is sub-tropical thanks to the warm winds that blow from the Russian Steppes. NEW PORTS IN THE MED A feature of our Mediterranean season is Turkey's Turquoise Coast. Along with the temples at Ephesus, there are forts at Bodrum ancient Halicarnassus and cities buried beneath sea. Sunny resorts like Kas with its dramatic cliffs that tower over secluded bays and beaches. We'll also head back to North Africa, to Alexandria, within reach of Cairo's Pharaonic wonders and the sands of El Alamein. You'll marvel at Carthage and the extraordinary Roman city of Leptis Magna near Tripoli. Finally, for those with the luxury of time, our Grand Voyages invite you to link successive itineraries, sampling several different regions on one holiday. 3
