Set in the beautiful forest of the Landes, this family home offers three bedrooms, a huge garden with children's play items and a private outdoor swimming pool. Only 1 km from the village of Tilh, where daily groceries can be found, it benefits from a calm environment without being isolated. There are also bicycles at the property available to hire. There is the lively town of Dax, also well-known as a spa resort with a variety of cures to choose from. Dax also has a lovely old centre and "La Fontaine Chaude," the most important hot water spring in France. The historic town of Orthez used to be the capital of the Bearn and has an interesting market on Tuesdays with a wide choice of local products. The Atlantic Coast offers miles of unspoilt beaches as well as towns such as Biarritz with its chic boutiques and casino. Bayonne is famous for its dried ham and St. Jean-de-Luz with its picturesque town centre are all within easy reach. This detached house for six has three bedrooms, one of which is ensuite with spa bath, a shower room, separate kitchen, air conditioning and lounge with a terrace that offers lovely views over the Pyrénées. There is a lawned garden in front of the house and a very nice private outdoor pool at the back. The owner usually lives in the basement of the property and is on hand to offer any help or advice. All on ground floor: The property is situated in the peaceful village of Bardos, where most facilities can be found. You are only 30 km from the coast with Biarritz and within easy reach of the Pyrénées. There are lots of natural attractions to visit in the area, such as the caves of Isturitz and Oxocelhaya, and many interesting walking tours. There are also the typical towns of Cambo-les-Bains, Espelette (famous for its red peppers) and StJean-Pied-de-Port to explore. Most regional products can be found on the local markets and dont forget to taste a few Basque specialities, such as the popular "Poulet basque," in one of the local restaurants. The Spanish border lies within easy reach so that spending a day abroad can be a great idea for an excursion.
