Teach English in the villages of rural Mexico

Escape the stresses of city life and discover the true spirit of country living by teaching English in the rural Mexican communities of Zaragoza and Aramberri. You'll mainly be teaching English to the villagers but you should be prepared to roll up your sleeves and chip in with some decorating, maintenance and gardening. If you have a passion to make a difference and get hands-on experience of Mexican village life, then make sure you pack your suitcase full of creativity, great ideas, enthusiasm and energy. We've included i-to-i TEFL certification so you can hit the ground running.
Teach English and conserve crocodiles on Oaxaca's coast, Mexico

Situated on the beautiful Southern Pacific coast, you'll be sharing your English skills in an emerging eco-tourism destination that's well known for its sea turtle population. Volunteers are needed to teach English and raise environmental awareness in the community so that local people can benefit from the rise in foreign tourism in the area. When not teaching you'll be assisting with efforts to conserve the local crocodile population and restore the mangrove forests. A great placement for flexible and enthusiastic volunteers.
The Experience
We gave English lessons to local children in the mornings, with lots of art and games. In the afternoons I went around poorer communities, inviting children to come to the classes, which slowly grew in this poor but warm and welcoming area. Patricia Thergold

1. Tour Mazunte's turtle conservation center 2. Catch a wave and surf on the local beaches 3. Explore Oaxaca City and the nearby Mt Alban ruins 4. Visit Tehuantepec, known for its handicrafts, culture and traditions
