The i-to-i Foundation The i-to-i Foundation Registered charity no. 1099482 The i-to-i Foundation Recent Gifts Background Created by i-to-i founder Deirdre Bounds, the i-to-i Foundation was conceived after her visit to an orphanage project in Nepal, where Deirdre helped attend to a newborn that had been abandoned. Struck by the extreme conditions of the project, she decided to create a registered charity to provide resources for the most disadvantaged projects that we work with throughout the developing world. Funding comes from i-to-i donations, fundraising events, corporate and individual donations and purchases from our online shop. Tsunami relief for Sri Lanka Following the tragic tsunami in December 2004, the i-to-i Foundation was a vehicle for the immediate launch of aid to devastated communities in Sri Lanka. Donations from i-to-i joined donations from the public, and a total of $126,000 was raised to help fund both immediate and long-term aid for those affected. Emergency medical supplies after the Asian tsunami Online shop For those looking for more meaningful gifts which have an immediate impact on our projects, we now have a new and improved market stall where you can buy anything from clothes for orphans in Argentina to food for Giant Pandas in China. Membership If you want to play a bigger part, we also offer a membership package for regular donors. i-to-i discounts and free newsletters are just some of the bonuses available to members. Annual grants Each year, we receive applications for funding from all the projects that we support. Here are just a few of the grants we gave in 2006: In South Africa, we paid for the construction of 10 secure recovery enclosures so that the monkeys had time to recuperate before they were released into the wild. In India, we paid for a three year lease on two classrooms at a school for disadvantaged children and bought the school meals for one year.
