Why the UK needs you
The British countryside may be picturesque, but with 60-million people living in a country the size of Florida, help is needed to assist with a variety of conservation tasks to prevent the countryside becoming a victim of its own success. By volunteering in the UK you can make a difference for future generations of visitors.
5. At one stage, Britain ruled half of the world's population. 6. During the summer, some parts of Scotland never reach darkness. 7. In Cockney rhyming slang, if you want to take a look, you take a `butcher's hook'. 8. The UK has an amazing variety of accents; in many cases a Brit can tell someone's hometown by their accent. 9. When walking towards someone, move to your left to avoid collision. 10. The Industrial Revolution was able to take off in Britain because of the Brits' love affair with tea (and the necessary boiled water), which killed off waterborne diseases.
