UK Conservation work across England These volunteer programmes centre on the philosophy of engaging people in the natural environment whilst preserving and improving those environments through practical action. You'll be part of a group of volunteers from around the world who will work as a team on a range of conservation projects in your chosen area. You could learn skills such as traditional dry-stone walling, hedge laying and habitat management. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know the great British countryside and safeguard it for future generations. The South West Country Historic and beautiful, the South West Country offers some of Britain's most diverse landscapes. The Cotswolds are home to some of the country's prettiest villages and offer picturesque views across rolling countryside, while the Devon moors and the coastal villages of Cornwall offer a more rugged and spectacular vision of Britain. Yorkshire Up hill and down dale, the inspiring Yorkshire landscape will take your breath away. Expanses of stunning heather moorland open out onto views of fairytale castles, ancient forests and ruined abbeys, pretty fishing villages dot the rugged coastline and spectacular cliffs rise up from secluded sandy beaches. The Lake District The Lake District boasts some of Britain's most stunning scenery and has been a source of inspiration for many of England's greatest poets. The stark peaks of the Cumbrian Mountains wet their feet in serene glacial lakes and pretty green dales run as far as the eye can see.
