India has long been a favourite with travellers from around the world and this tour will show you why. Starting in Bangalore, a bustling city which will place you right at the heart of the Indian culture. In this delightful setting, where modern architecture mingles with ancient temples and sophisticated bars border beautiful parks, you will have a chance to catch your breath before embarking on a fourweek Souhern Indian odyssey. Then its off to the rural village of Kengeri where you will see another side of India. Here the traditional lifestyle remains strong and you will catch a glimpse of the origins of this incredible country. Hampi, Mamallapuram and Pondicherry will follow and each is famed for its own unique cultural treasures. Finally the tour will bring you to Mysore, a city with a rich cultral history that is just waiting to be explored.

a 250-acre park in the middle of Bangalore. There will be time for a walk through the park, a picnic and an introduction to yoga relaxation techniques. Day 3-9: Bangalore. For the next seven days you will be travelling to the small village of Kengeri each morning and returning to Bangalore in the evening. Your first two days will be spent at a local reforestation project, while the last five will be spent in the village school. Cultural excursions will be organised for most evenings. Day 10-11: Hampi. Transfer to Hampi. The next two days will be completely devoted to exploring the ruins at the village of Vijayanagar. Day 12: Bangalore. Transfer back to Bangalore where you can explore at your leisure. Day 13: Mamallapuram. Transfer to Mamallapuram, near Chennai. Day 14: Mamallapuram. Today you will visit the stone carvings and the legendary Shore Temple. Day 15: Mamallapuram. Today you will try your hand at some local crafts. Day 16-17: Mamallapuram. For the next two days you will be free to explore the town.

Day 25-26: Mysore. For the next two days you will be working at an orphanage in Mysore. Day 27: Mysore. Today you will visit the famous sights at Sravanabelagola. Day 28: Bangalore. Transfer back to Bangalore where you can prepare for your departure. Day 29: Return home.

Day 18: Mamallapuram. Today you will visit the Dakshina Chitra. Day 19: Pondicherry. Transfer to Pondicherry where you will visit the French quarter and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Day 20-21: Auroville International Community. Transfer to the Auroville International Community. This is an experiment in international living where people can live in peace and progressive harmony above all creeds, politics and nationalities. A truly unique experience. Day 22: Chennai. Transfer to Chennai, stopping at the Crocodile Bank along the way. Day 23: Bangalore. Transfer back to Bangalore for a day of rest. Day 24: Mysore. Transfer to Mysore where you will visit Maharajas Palace.
