Nestled high in the Himalayas region, Nepal is a picture of perfection with magnificent snow-capped mountains, vast rolling plains and mysterious forested valleys. This beautifully diverse terrain not only makes it one of the most stunning destinations on earth but also makes it ideal for trekking. This is a great chance for travellers to observe the extraordinary Nepalese culture and will provide endless opportunities for you to practice your new language skills. On top of that, you will be spending two days whitewater rafting on the crystal clear waters of one of Nepals superb rivers, where you can swim, relax and take in your incredible surroundings. But what makes this experience really special is your time living with a local family where you will have the chance to get right to the heart of the local culture. This is a rare opportunity to become more than a tourist, to begin to understand a culture, a country and its people from within.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Day 2-5: Kathmandu Valley. For the next three days you will attend language classes and social/ cultural lectures as well as touring the valley. Day 6-9: Kathmandu Valley. You will transfer to your homestay, where you will accompany the familys children to school, and have the chance to take an active part in their classes. Day 10-11: Kathmandu Valley. You will visit the farms where the men work and see the different types of jobs they do. Your family may also take you to nearby villages to visit family members. Day 12: Chisapani. Transfer to a hotel in Chisapani where you will prepare for a village trek. Day 13-20: Chisapani. You will commence the trek from Chisapani, heading to Gosaikunda Lake and back to Kathmandu via Dhunche, staying at lodges along the way. While trekking you will be able to observe traditional Nepalese life and enjoy beautiful landscapes. Day 21: Kathmandu. Transfer back to Kathmandu.

Day 22-23: The Nepalese Countryside. You will set off on 2 days of rafting. Depending on the season, you could be gliding on calm, jade-coloured waters; or rushing along roaring white rapids in the care of expert river guides. Day 24-26: Chitwan National Park. After rafting you will depart for a Jungle Safari, trekking through Chitwan National Park to see the abundant wildlife. Optional tours include an elephant ride, a canoe trip and a nature walk. At the end of day 26 you will transfer back to Kathmandu. Day 27: Kathmandu. You will have a free day to explore the city at your leisure. Day 28: Return home.
